Claire & Jake at Horsted Place
An autumn Wedding at Horsted Place
There’s something truly magical about an autumn wedding, it is my favourite season to photograph. The incredible array of colours just before the leaves drop. Blend that with the loveliest couple; enter Claire and Jake. Their stunning wedding at Horsted Place was no exception, blending the warmth of summer with the charm of autumn.
A Church Ceremony
The day began with a warm and heartfelt ceremony in Uckfield Church. Their family and friends were welcomed into the tiny and historic church, a moment that set the tone for the entire celebration. With their loved ones gathered around them, Claire and Jake exchanged vows and you could see how much it meant to everyone. As they walked back down the aisle together, they were smiling from ear to ear and were led out into the glorious sunshine.
A Stroll to Horsted House
After the ceremony, Claire and Jake made their way to Horsted House, taking a leisurely walk just over the road on The Queens Walk. Aptly named because it was created for The Queen to attend services at the church when she stayed at the hotel. They walked ahead of their guests, giving them some precious time to soak in the moment before joining their guests for the celebration. The walk was a lovely way to transition from the ceremony to the more relaxed atmosphere at the venue, allowing the couple to also have some relaxed and candid couples portraits on the way.
Reception on the lawns
Horsted House, with its picturesque grounds and lush gardens was the perfect venue. Claire and Jake were able to enjoy their drinks reception on the lawns, enjoying the canapes and congratulations hugs that came in thick and fast from their guests. Inside, the reception space had been carefully styled with touches of seasonal florals and personal decorations that had sentimental meaning to Claire and Jake.
Celebrating with Friends and Family
As the afternoon unfolded, the couple enjoyed a relaxed and joyful celebration with their loved ones. The speeches, full of heartfelt moments and laughter, set the tone for what such a special day. There was a genuine sense of joy in the room.
Thank you so much for trusting me to document your incredible day, thank you for welcoming me into your wedding and thank you to your incredible family and friends. It was such a great day!
Much love, Claire x
