Emilie & Travis at Wandsworth Old Town Hall

“Claire we can’t thank you enough for these! They are absolutely GORGEOUS and we can’t wait to share them with our families. It’s so exciting!!!!”

A London micro wedding

One of the great things about being a wedding photographer in London is the variety of venues that you have around you. I’ve been really fortunate to photograph numerous weddings at Wandsworth Town Hall. It’s got some absolutely beautiful features inside and out and you wouldn’t realise that you were at an inner city wedding venue. So, when Emilie and Travis first got in contact and told me the brief details of their micro wedding, we then organised a call to chat more in person about their ceremony in Wandsworth.

 Shhh…it’s a secret wedding!

Emilie and Travis went on to explain to me that it was only going to be themselves along with 3 other guests, one of which had designed and made the weddings bands! As we chatted about timings and logistics, they declared that there was also one other important piece of information that I needed to know…it was a secret wedding! Only the 6 of us, 8 if you include the registrars, knew that the ceremony was taking place and that they were going to be fly out to surprise their families, both of which lived abroad. So could I please keep the photographs to myself until the grand reveal-absolutely!!!

 An intimate ceremony

When we arrived on the day, I was immediately introduced to everyone and made to feel so welcome. From the start it was relaxed and such a fun atmosphere. Emilie and Travis both looked amazing and didn’t stop smiling. You could see them soaking in every single minute of their day from the start. Their ceremony was full of sentiment and emotion, topped off by presenting each other with a wedding band made by their friend who was there with them.

A few relaxed couple’s portraits

No matter what the size of the wedding, I always think it’s so important for the bride and groom to have a little minute to themselves after the ceremony, and if they don’t mind, I observe from a far. From here we then had 5-10 minutes to wander around the venue and captured some gorgeous natural shots of the newlyweds. I told Emilie and Travis to pretty much ignore that I was there, which as you can see below created some magic! We then did a few group shots of everyone together to finish off.

Bubbles to celebrate

Then, pop! Potentially my favourite moment of their wedding, being able to witness everyone raising a glass to the new Mr and Mrs. Travis popped the cork in the most specular fashion and I was there to document it all. The smiles, the cheers and the chatter. Everyone was on such a high and it was such a special moment to finish up my time with them.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; I am so incredibly lucky with my job to be a witness to some of the moments that I am. Emilie and Travis’ wedding was one of those for me. My first secret wedding and hopefully not my last. Congratulations once again and thank you for having me there with you.
