Olivia and Javier at Old Marylebone Town Hall

” Oh Claire we are obsessed!!! These are absolutely incredible, we can’t thank you enough! You were such a fantastic addition to our day!”

Couples like this…

From my initial emails with Javier arranging their wedding I could tell that he was relaxed-and came across as so kind and polite! Olivier and Javier actually booked me before chatting to me for their intimate micro wedding at Marylebone Town Hall. The plan was to then have a further celebration in Javier’s home country of Mexico with his extended friends and family.

The Setting: Old Marylebone Town Hall

Marylebone Town Hall is my favourite registry office in London. It is so atmospheric and provides the perfect backdrop. It was a perfect example of what London has to offer for Javier’s family who had flown in for their ceremony. Olivia’s mum walked her down the aisle and the look between Olivia and Javier as they first saw each other was pure magic.

A Fusion of Two Cultures

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was the blending of two cultures—Olivia’s English roots and Javier’s Mexican heritage. Their backgrounds may be different, but what stood out most was how natural it felt for them, and their families, to come together. It was clear that their relationship wasn’t just about two people, but about two families, each contributing something unique to them as a couple. One of my favourite parts of the day was Javier’s Father delivering a speech. Speeches are not a tradition at Mexican weddings and the idea was very foreign to him (pardon the pun), so he Googled it. Well, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Including mine. It was the most charming and heartfelt speech that I think I have had the privilege of witnessing at a wedding. Even Olivier caught me having to wipe away a few tears behind my camera.

On to the wedding breakfast

The couple were then transported in their horse and cart to their reception venue for their wedding breakfast at The Italian Greyhound. Again, an intimate venue where they were able to exchange congratulations, witness Olivier’s Mum’s incredible wedding cake and raise a glass together. It was just full of so much love and laughter!

What’s Next: The Celebration in Mexico

Although their Marylebone ceremony was an important legal step, it was far from the only celebration. With family and friends spread across continents, the couple is planning a larger wedding in Mexico to mark this next stage of their journey together.

Congratulations to Olivia and Javier! May your future together be filled with love, laughter, and all the adventures that come with it.
