Suzie & Geoff at Leatherhead Registry Office.

“The photos are so special and sensational.  You totally ‘got us’ Claire, and in so doing captured the essence and fun of our day perfectly.”

All of the love!

‘I’ve found my soulmate Claire!’. These were the joyful words that Suzie declared to me over the phone in our pre wedding catch up. Even with having never met Suzie in person before and knowing nothing about her I instantly knew it was going to be my kind of wedding. She sounded like a teenager in love and was so excited for their day that lay ahead.

All of the details.

Suzie had told me about things that were important to them, like cycling. There were two vintage bicycle wheels that were to be brought to the wedding and they’d told me they’d love for them to be included in some of their photographs. No problem at all! She also told me that horticulture and nature was really important to her and as a result she had got an amazing florist to do the flowers and that her bouquet was going to be floral fireworks (what’s not the love?!). The details that had gone into their day were so thought through and 100% personal to them which I absolutely loved. The flowers by Mad Lilies Surrey were so stunning and included types of flowers for those people that couldn’t be at the wedding with them. As I said, so much thought and detail.

Champagne..?!

When I arrived at Leatherhead Registry Office, somewhere I’ve had the pleasure of working at numerous times before, I was greeted in the car park by Geoff. It was the first time that I’d met him and the first thing he did was pop a cork and offer me a glass of Bollinger. What a legend! This was my kind of wedding already! I politely declined (as much as I would have loved to) and introduced myself to everyone and was instantly welcomed into the wedding party like another guest. Suzie and Geoff had 6 of their closest friends and family with them for the day and each and everyone of them had a smile on their face for the entirety of the time that I was with them. There was so much laughter that you couldn’t help but smile along with them.

A beautiful and personal ceremony for 8.

Even in Covid times, the ceremony was conducted in the most personal and heartfelt way. There was the perfect blend of emotion and humour and you got the sense that this was an ‘at last’ moment for the bride and groom. The team at Leatherhead Registry office did such a great job. After their first kiss and the register was signed they danced their way out of the room and into the stunning gardens! After all of the congratulations had been said we captured a few group shots followed by 5-10 minutes of photographs with just the bride and groom. This was the perfect amount of time to capture them amongst the stunning autumn colours, and minutes before the heavens opened!
