It’s been quite a year!

2020 was meant to be have been a year filled with travel and adventure for Alex and James. I can absolutely guarantee you won’t believe it from their photographs, but they both turned 40 this year. For many couples, and for many different reasons, 2020 has been an absolute arse. Quite frankly. For Alex and James, it meant that they both had to celebrate their birthdays slightly closer to home than planned and be separated from friends and family.

Instead of dwelling though, they wanted to mark their 40^th years with something else. A portrait of the 2 of them. An idea which I absolutely loved (and think more people should do!) and was only too happy to help! Taking full advantage of the stunning October colours we opted for the breath-taking Pergola at Hampstead Heath in London. It was the perfect backdrop and Alex’s hair was the perfect accessory to those beautiful autumn tones!

A couple’s shoot doesn’t have to be because you’ve just got engaged, it can also be to celebrate a milestone in your life together. Or even just because you want some photographs of the two of you. I love that I was able to capture these portraits of Alex and James in their 40^th year. Hopefully they’ll be a more positive memory for them to look back and remember 2020 in a slightly different light, and also remember how gorgeous they were at 40!!
