Kirsty and David at Bury Court
“Claire!! We just wanted to say ‘Thank You’ so much again for your wonderful photography (and company) on our wedding day! We are OBSESSED with the photos; we just love them all and can’t stop looking at them over and over again.”
A stunning autumn wedding
I love an autumn wedding; it’s my favourite time of year. It’s magical to capture when everything aligns and you get all of the vibrant hues and golden light. Then add in a stunning venue like Bury Court Barn, an awesome couple like Kirsty and David and a team of great suppliers, such as Shaun Young films, and you’re on to an absolute winner of a day!!
Bury Court Barn
Many moons ago I was a bridesmaid at Bury Court Barn and I haven’t been back there since. It has been on my bucket list to photograph there for so long. The modernisations that have been made over the years, in my opinion, have really elevated it as a venue. With its rustic charm, elegant settings and stunning countryside backdrop, it was the perfect choice for Kirsty and David. The lush, green gardens surrounding the barn were dotted with touches of orange, gold, and red, as the trees began to change for the season. It felt like nature had perfectly coordinated with Kirsty and David’s colour palette for the day.
Kirsty and David
So, I owe my husband a big thank you for this wedding as he works with David and gave him my details. Our first chat was actually a phone call, remember those?! Chat was easy and even over the phone came across as such a lovely couple. I loved hearing all about the details of their day, even down to how their cat Bella was going to be involved, even though she wasn’t actually going to be there. When I arrived on the morning of the wedding, I was greeted so warmly by both of them and instantly made an honorary member of the wedding party.
An intimate ceremony
Even with a fairly large guest list, Kirsty and David’s vow exchange felt cosy and filled with warmth. The ceremony took place in the barn’s spacious, yet intimate setting. Kirsty looked stunning as she walked down a candle lit aisle in her classic A line dress. Set amongst the cosy chandeliers and stunning floral displays (curtesy of Long Acres Flowers) they exchanged rings surrounded by their friends and family. The atmosphere was happy, relaxed, and full of emotion — exactly what they had envisioned for their special day.
The wedding breakfast
After the canapes and champagne in the Barn’s grounds, guests were invited to the barn’s reception area, which had been transformed into a stunning autumnal wonderland. The round tables were adorned with autumn flowers, and candles, creating such a cosy, inviting atmosphere. The vibrant orange and red tones of the flowers and décor brought the autumn theme to life, while the soft lighting gave the room a magical glow as dusk settled in.
Time to party!
As the night unfolded, the dance floor filled with some specular moves! The newlyweds shared their first dance under a canopy of twinkling lights, and from there, the celebrations continued long into the evening.
Thoughtful Touches
No detail was overlooked on Kirsty and David’s wedding day. From the autumnal colour palette, the personal gifts that they gave to their wedding party, the dress up box for the evening and the cut outs of their cat Bella that came onto the dance floor. Everything felt carefully considered.
Perhaps one of the most memorable touches was the sparklers that took place as the evening guests arrived. Outdoor firepits with s’mores and blankets were set up to add to the gorgeous setting.
A Day to Remember
Kirsty and David’s autumn wedding at Bury Court Barn was incredible. It was a day that perfectly captured the beauty of the season, the couple’s love for one another, their families, and of course their cat Bella.
Thank you for having me there with you on your truly stunning day. I had so much fun with you as well as your friends and family!
